Forwarding mail

To forward the currently open message to another address:

  1. Click Forward. A new-message form appears with the original message in the large text box.

  2. Type the email addresses you want to send the message to, in the To field.

  3. Type any email addresses you want to send a copy to, in the Cc field.

  4. Type any email addresses you want to send a blind copy to, in the Bcc field.

  5. Type any additional text above "Original Message" in the large text box.

    Note:
If you want to delete any content from the original message, click and hold the left mouse button at the beginning of the content you want to delete and drag the mouse to the end of the content you want to delete. Release the mouse button. The selected content is highlighted. Press Delete. The highlighted content is deleted.

If you do not want to delete any content from the original message, continue with the next step.

  6. Check or un-check Include Signature and Save a copy to Sent Folder.

  7. Click Send. After a short pause, a message appears informing you that your mail was sent. The blank new-message form re-appears.

Do you ever get email that has been forwarded many times? (Fwd, Fwd, Fwd, Fwd, Fwd). It can be exasperating when friends find stuff on the Web that they think everyone should see and they simply pass it along to several others. If they do not use the following procedure, the lists of email addresses that occupy the beginning of the message can grow so large that they consume far more space than the actual message occupies.

To more efficiently forward email messages to friends and co-workers:

  1. Use your mouse to mark only the message content. (Click and hold the left mouse button at the beginning of the content and drag the mouse to the end of the content. Release the mouse button. The selected content is highlighted.)

  2. Press Ctrl-c to save the content to the clipboard.

  3. Click the Compose tab. The Compose Message form appears.

  4. Click inside the large text field, then click Ctrl-v to paste the content into the text field.

  5. Type anything you want to add to the content in the large text field.

  6. Type the email addresses you want to send the message to, in the To field.

    Note:
For steps 6, 7, and 8 you can click Address Book and select the addresses instead of typing each one.

  7. Type any email addresses you want to send a copy to, in the Cc field.

  8. Type any email addresses you want to send a blind copy to, in the Bcc field.

  9. Keep the existing subject or type any subject you want in the Subject field.

  10. Check or un-check Include Signature and Save a copy to Sent Folder.

  11. Click Send. After a short pause, a message appears informing you that your mail was sent and a new, blank Compose Message form appears.

The message is sent without the seemingly zillions of forwarding addresses it contained when it arrived in your Inbox.
