Deleting a folder

Note: only user-created folders can be deleted.

To delete a user-created folder:

  1. Click the Folders tab. The Folders window appears.

    Important: Before continuing, be sure there are no messages you want to save in the folder you want to delete. If you are not sure, click on that folder name to open it and review the message subjects; then return to the Folders window.

  2. In the Delete column, check the folder you want to delete.  

  3. Click Delete. A message appears asking if you are sure you want to permanently delete this folder and its contents.

    Warning:
    When a folder is cleared, messages in that folder go to the Trash folder; however, when a folder is deleted, messages in that folder do not go to the Trash folder; they are permanently deleted.

  4. Click OK. A message appears informing you that the folder was deleted.
